1. Commitment to Impartiality
The United Safety and Quality Council (USQC) recognizes that impartiality is the foundation of its certification, testing, and calibration services. We are committed to maintaining objectivity and managing any potential conflicts of interest in accordance with ISO 17021, 17024, 17025, and 17065.
2. Management of Impartiality
USQC ensures impartiality through: Independent Oversight via our Ethics and Standards Board which sits independently of the business management functions to safeguard the independence and impartiality of certification activities; Risk Assessment to identify and analyze potential threats to impartiality arising from its activities, relationships, or the activities of its personnel; Conflict of Interest management requiring all personnel (internal and external) to disclose any situation that may present a conflict of interest; and Objective Decision-Making ensuring that certification and testing decisions are based on objective evidence and are not influenced by commercial, financial, or other pressures.
3. Confidentiality
USQC is committed to the protection of all proprietary and personal information obtained during its activities. All personnel, including committee members and contractors, sign legally enforceable confidentiality agreements. Information is stored securely and accessed only by authorized personnel. No information is disclosed to third parties without written consent, except where required by law or accreditation bodies.
4. ESG and Governance
In alignment with our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework, USQC maintains transparent and ethical governance. We believe that impartiality and confidentiality are key social and governance responsibilities that build trust with our clients, candidates, and the public.
5. Reporting Concerns
Any person or organization that has concerns regarding USQC's impartiality or confidentiality is encouraged to report them through our formal Complaints and Appeals Procedure or by contacting us at admin@usqc.us.
