Course Overview
The Permit to Work system is a cornerstone of safe control of hazardous work in the oil & gas, offshore, and marine industries. This course explains how a PTW system operates, the roles of permit applicants, issuers, and area authorities, and how PTW integrates with risk assessment, isolation, and gas testing. Participants gain the competence to raise, review, authorize, monitor, and close permits for hot work, cold work, confined space entry, electrical work, and other controlled activities.
Every simulator in this course opens with a mandatory Risk Assessment Gate — identify the hazards, set the controls, and confirm the residual risk before the “permit to simulate” is issued — and every scenario injects live condition changes that demand dynamic risk assessment and Stop Work decisions, exactly as the field does.
Interactive Training Games
Sit as issuing authority for four hot work permits: verify gas tests, isolations, fire watch, SIMOPS — and refuse the one job that cannot be made safe.
Branching decision scenario through the failure points of real permits.
Classify jobs to permit types and sequence the full permit lifecycle.
